You guys aren't planning to let us overtake you in the international rankings in 10 days time, are you?  (Or AF in 20 days?)

Hi Mike,

Fact is I think we'd be hard pressed to beat any other "international" team, as our main membership is derived from just one country, rather than from around the world... Cool

As such, although we'll give it our best shot, I don't honestly think it's a worthy comparison...as our membership is specifically targetted at UK (or ex-UK) members.

regards,

Tim

I couldn't help noticing, that according to that graph, BOINC@AUSTRALIA also appear to be catching us up.  Confused

I have just attached to this project, (I have been intending to anyway, since James Dorsey was kind enough to join in with the birthday events) but mine will only be a small contribution. Sad

James.

News on APS -

http://www.boincsynergy.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=76432#76432

Basically James (the admin) is in Germany, the server is in his office in Manchester, and the only other person with a key was at a conference today... so hopefully it'll be up tomorrow.

Another message from James (again copied from BOINCstats forum)

Quote:
Hi again all,

The server is still down, and I'm now not sure when it's up. Our department has started moving into new buildings, so there's nobody about to gain physical access to the server and router. At this point, I can't promise that the system will be back up before I return from Germany on Monday the 30th of July. If you want to detach the project until then to avoid the error messages, I understand. I'll post again when the server is up.

It is still possible that someone may be able to get in to power cycle the system, but it's beyond my control. I'm sorry about this, and I hope you all understand...

Please could you distribute this to your team colleagues? It's not very good news, but there's still a glimmer of hope that it'll be fixed this week.

APS have asked all users to abort all WUs until further notice, due to a problem with rogue WUs.

This only applies to WUs sent out in September, the current batch (ie anything issued yesterday onwards) are OK. There's plenty of work too...

October 4, 2007 Request for ALL users to abort ALL work
EDITED: I have deleted all currently outstanding work units. I apologise for this, but it was necessary in order to debug the server and release new work.

We've had to cancel all the work units currently running. These have a deadline in 2009, and for some reason are causing problems with the assimilator daemon. It would be a VERY good idea to abort any APS work you currently have running. I can't diagnose the problem while these rogue WUs are still out there.

Thanks for your co-operation, and apologies for the inconvenience (and small amount of lost credit). Please spread the word among your teams.

Only deadlines ending 2009.. Did anybody recieve these wu's, because i did not..

From what I read in the APS forum, its only workunits that start (ltm-)r12_h10_u that are affected and should be aborted.

Mine are all ltm-r24_h20_u2 so I'm ok   Smile

James.
