Could it be... ?
ATI cards may get a look in on GPU Grid possibly? This was posted back in Jan, can't believe i missed it!
However, it may still be a while yet.

This from the GPU forum...
| Quote: | Hi folks,
seriously, I don't why 6.6.20 became a recommended version. It has serious issues with work fetching, scheduling and debt handling. We expected problems due to this, but as it turns out another of 6.6.20s flaws is hitting us hard:
There are massive complains about WUs taking forever. This is a bug introduced a few versions prior to 6.6.20 and fixed in 6.6.23. So if you want to run a 6.6-series client, upgrade to 6.6.23!
This version still has issues, so if you don't like these I recommend 6.5.0, which doesn't have any of them. The only issue I know of is that it doesn't differentiate between cpu and gpu projects regarding the ressource share, so be sure to put in some balanced numbers. For 4 cpu cores and one gpu give GPU-Grid about 20% ressource share, otherwise your cache will be messed up.
You could also use 6.4.7 (the old recommended version), but this may require using a cc_config.xml to use all cpu cores.. so why bother.
All versions can be found here.
MrS |
Which explains a few things as to why I was getting major probs!
All versions here.

I'll have a look for that post on PS3grid and adjust my services accordingly.
I have also seen the cpu usage bobbing around at between 118% and 120%.
SO far it has been quite straight forward but I need to set up the wifi now which appears to be a bit more difficult. |
Are you using a PS3 for it? As i think i recall the PS3 showing something like 120% on it's CPU. As when i used my gpu to crunch it used around 20% i think

I might be wrong Ben (and if I am, then I do hope shelby_vn forgives me), but I rather suspect that shelby_vn is a spambot, a very clever spambot, but a spambot none the less.

I agree, well spotted. Post deleted.

I've had to suspend all work on this for now due to errors on the 17-KASHIF WUs. I thought I had a long WU yesterday, 18 hours at 28% completion, normally they take no more than 12 hours. This morning it was still at 28% and 28 hours!
Just had a look in the forum...
http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=1050
and it seems a bit too common to waste resources on suspect WUs for me. Knackered up my RAC good style now!
Suppose I'll have to do some SETIs until it's sorted.

No idea what's going on here but our own MJH has made it to being World #2 for RAC on the front page! Not sure how long it's gonna stay there but well done!!

This story broke at the end of last month. The latest PS3 firmware update will remove the 'Use Different OS' choice in the old PS3 models.

I bought a slimline PS3, so no Linux for me! But I'm making headway on Folding@Home for the Team
